The SBCUSD Middle School Esports League provides students with an exciting opportunity to compete, collaborate, and grow through organized competitive gaming. More than just playing video games, esports develops essential 21st-century skills including teamwork, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and digital citizenship.
Open to all SBCUSD middle schools, the league offers a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where students represent their schools, build lasting friendships, and demonstrate sportsmanship both in and out of competition. Guided by trained teacher-coaches, students participate in regular practices, county league matches, and district and county tournaments while maintaining high expectations for academics, character, and responsible technology use.
Through the SBCUSD Middle School Esports League, students gain valuable experiences that prepare them for high school esports programs, future careers in technology and gaming, and success as responsible digital citizens.
